If you’re like me you’re always on the go and you need to have apps that let you monitor and interact with your social media properties through out the day. These are the must have apps everyone should have on their phone. These apps will allow you to manage your social media on the go!

It’s should also be noted that these are cross platform on iOS and Android. As of yet I”m not sure about windows phone or Blackberry. iOS and Android have the majority of market share so those are the ones I will be covering.

Unknown-1Facebook Pages App
This is a must have for me. It allows me to monitor the pages I manage. The push notifications make this almost invaluable. I say this because anytime makes a comment or sends a message I get instant notification. If it’s important I can respond right then and not have to wait till I get to a computer.

Another reason this app is so valuable is you can post to your page from the app. So if you are at an event and take pics you can up load them right there into a gallery and share with your fans. It also has very basic Page Insights were you can see how your page is doing.

Unknown-2Twitter
You maybe saying but I use (insert app name) to do Twitter. The official app allows you to see the latest and greatest in the Twitter universe. It allows you to upload 4 pictures and tag multiple people in pictures. Many of the other apps do not allow you to do that anytime soon. The reason is the API limitations Twitter is doing to third party apps they may not get them.

The app also has conversations built in. This makes it easier to follow conversations if you get busy and are unable to respond right away. The conversation thread is listed. It’s a great feature.

LinkedIn
If you’re in B2B marketing this is a no brainer. You will want to have this app on you incase that important lead emails you. It also allows you to find contacts on the go. You have the entire LinkedIn site at your fingertips. I would say this is equally important for those looking for a job too!

Google+
There is a difference on Android and IOS. On Android it’s very easy to manage your pages. Whereas the iOS app you have to sign out and sign back on to get to your page. It’s a little wonky but it works. I hope that is something they will fix or put out an app like Facebook just for pages.

This app is like the Facebook page and will allow you to manage your Google+ page on the go. You can respond to things that need your immediate attention.

Instagram
Images are probably one of the most important things in social and content marketing today. A good visual can go a long way. If you can take your own pics that’s even better! This is one of my favorite apps and I try to take a picture every day to share. If you don’t know you can tie your Instagram to your Facebook page. Instead of sharing to your personal account you can share to your page as a brand.
These are the ones I can’t live without. However, I know there are many of you who are on a few more networks you may need to be on, on the go! Here are some honorable mentions

Tumblr
Puts the Microblogging platform in your pocket. You can reblog, create and like posts on the go. Easy to use and is updated often. The last few updates have made it really easy to use.

Pinterest
If you’re a business that has a big Pinterest page the official app is great for on the go. I have started to use it for personal food obsession when traveling. I post pics of my amazing meals. But you can use it at an event (fashion, craft or etc) or repin of of your followers amazing pis.

Facebook App
You may already have this on your phone for personal use. You may use this in tandem with your Facebook Pages app to look at the competitors pages or other sort of research you need to do on the main site. The Pages app is pretty much limited just to your pages.

I hope these help you and I”ll have more app reviews soon!
