When I see a WordPress update I sometimes cringe. Why you ask? Well I have updates go a wry and crash the blog until you have to do some digging and have to fix a plug in conflict. This changed with WordPress 3.9 Smith.
WordPress brought many of the changes I have wanted in the platform for a while. They are:
- Easy image resizing – This has been in Firefox for a while but other browsers lacked this feature. Now you can grab a corner and resize any image on the fly.
- Drag and Drop Photos – Drag and drob has been the my most desired features. Before you could drag and drop when you clicked add media, now anywhere in the post you can drop an image and upload it!
- Theme Preview – Changes made in the theme editor were only be visible when you saved it and viewed the site. Now you see changes in the editor before they go live!
- Widget preview – The same for above applies to widgets
- Easy Text editing – Have you ever copied something in to WordPress from Word and it goes all wonky? The improved editing will strip out the extra code and copy just as you see it in word!
These are the changes i love. Other changes include easy image editing and gallery/media previews live in your post page!
It’s super easy to upgrade. When you log into WordPress you will see “Version 3.9” is available at the top!
