If you have followed the Tech world the last few months you my have heard of Google Photos. It’s a service offered by Google to upload all your photos and videos up to 12 megapixels. The best of all is the service offers unlimited storage for free! This is a great reason to use the service to back everything up in the cloud. Also, it can catalogue your pictures and recognize where the picture was taken, with out GPS data. Lastly, Photos recognizes whats in the picture. However, these are not why you should be using the service. The Creations are the reason!
In Google+ Photos they had a thing called AutoAwesome. Which would take a photo and edit it for you and the process would leave an awesome photo. Auto awesome included adding in a snow effect, creating an animated gif, and a lot more. I don’t think many outside the Google+ world really paid attention to this feature. When Google released Photos they renamed it creations. It will do these features and more. They include effects, boarders, videos, panoramas and more
Photos now can create different effects and boarders with the pictures you upload. I would go into detail but pictures say a 1,000 words. Here are some creations that the service has created.
The pictures above were all color pictures. The boarders and effects were added by Google Photos.
An example of the Panorama – This was created with other pictures I took and uploaded
An example of Animated Gif – This was created featuring pictures from the Cirque Show Zarkana in Las Vegas
This is not the only creations. Once you upload videos the service will create short videos. These are examples of a few of the videos that were created.

If you aren’t using Google Photos you need to start using it for photo management and content creation. Photos will create really fun and interesting pieces of media.
So what are the reasons to use the service:
- Online back up of all your media for free (unlimited space)
- No need to tag pictures, the search can recognize what is in the picture and where it was taken
- Creations will give you really good pictures you can use in your marketing
