Google+ is it a Dead Social Platform Walking?

Screenshot_2014-05-19-21-39-23I was just thinking the last week or so that I haven’t logged on to Google+. It’s kind of a ghost town with the friends I have on it. Very little interaction and commenting. So, this had me pondering is it a dead social platform walking? It maybe, however, the picture part of Google+ is one of the best around.

Just last week they released Stories. You maybe asking what are stores? Well they are curated by Google to show your trips and special events. I really liked the ones it did for me. It highlighted several trips to Vegas and some snow. You maybe asking, “Yeah it can curate but how good is it?”

If you are familiar with the Auto Awesome, its the same technology. They have created an algorithm that picks the best pics to profile. If you don’t like them you can always edit or change them. They are created automatically and show up in your picture section. You can choose to keep them private or share them.

The picture above is one that is in the Google Blog. I will say if you’re big into sharing pictures Google+ is the best way to do it. Outside of pics I”m not sure how much engagement you will get. I posted on my personal account if anyone was out there. Two people responded and one said they only post pictures because it gets engagement.

One other change going this week is for pages. They now can have different age restrictions for different countries. It’s a slight change but one worth notiing.
